Bennett, Makailah

Makailah Bennett is a proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, and a Master’s degree in English Education. With over 25 years of experience, she has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop, beginning at the age of 3 at Cheryl Brett Dance Studio in Hinesville, GA, and later at Mount Castle School of Dance in Ahoskie, NC.
Throughout her career, Makailah has performed in numerous productions, including the Greensboro Community Theater productions of Newsies, and The Wizard of Oz at the Carolina Theatre. She was also part of the Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance’s production of Memphis. Makailah was a member of NC A&T State University’s Golden Delight dance auxiliary, and a professional cheerleader for the Carolina Cheetahs. Makailah has been an instructor for various dance studios and has taught dancers of all ages. She has choreographed for recitals, competitions, theater shows, scholarship and educational programs, dance videos, the Atlanta Hawks Pre-game show, and more! Passionate about movement and empowerment, Makailah currently teaches adult dance fitness classes in the Atlanta area, while serving as the instructor team lead. She is dedicated to inspiring and uplifting others through dance. Makailah enjoys watching her students grow and build confidence on the dance floor.
