Graham, Taela

Taela is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor who has been moving with heart and joy for over a decade. She is trained in a wide array of styles such as tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater, ballet and more, and she loves to bring an element of storytelling, energy, and creativity to everything she does. Taela pursued dance on an academic level at The University of the South: Sewanee, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Dance. During her time in university, she was a frequent principal dancer, performer, and choreographer for a plethora of shows including DanceWise, Perpetual Motion, and Dynamics. Taela has collaborated with artists such as Courtney World, Aaron Allen Jr., Kenny Keawekane, and some principal dancers for her own dance muse, Alvin Ailey. As an autistic artist, dance has always been her safe place, and has always given her an outlet to express herself without words, authentically explore her joy and identity, and surround herself with those who do the same. Taela is passionate about helping others find that same freedom in their own movement, whether they are brand new to dance or seasoned dancers. In her spare time, she loves to spend time her husband, Alan, get deeper in God’s word, try new foods, travel, and play various board games and card games. Taela hopes to get to dance with you soon!
