Kennedy Vaughn began dance training in Marietta, Georgia. Working with dance ministries at Turner Chapel A.M.E., as well as the elite dance program at Marietta High School, she found a love for dance and the arts. These outlets gave her the opportunity to train in jazz, ballet, modern, and West African dance. In 2018, Kennedy was given the opportunity to continue her training at the illustrious Savannah State University, where she trained in ballet, modern, and various spaces within the African Diaspora. Along with this, she spent time at Savannah State University, working in costume and set design and music composition. While in school, Kennedy interned at The Studio Savannah to begin learning about studio management. During this internship, she managed marketing, promotion, inventory and point of sale. In the summer and her second season with The Studio Savannah, she was given the opportunity to begin her career in teaching with beginner ballet, jazz and tap. Kennedy continues to teach these classes and more at her home studio in Metro Atlanta. Kennedy has now taught in genres including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, liturgical, West African and acrobatics across all age groups and skill sets.
