Emily’s journey in movement and athletics began at the age of three. After a year in dance, she transitioned to gymnastics for a few years before exploring various other sports. Eventually, she found her way to competitive swimming, where she dedicated nearly seven years to the sport. In high school, Emily returned to dance, beginning with recreational ballet, contemporary, and jazz. She quickly fell in love with the art form, training diligently over the summer and eventually earning a spot on a competitive dance team for her senior year of high school. During this time, she trained in contemporary and jazz, took ballet and tap, and explored hip-hop. Emily continued training at a competitive studio during her freshman year at Georgia Gwinnett College, where she focused on ballet and contemporary. She continued with adult recreational classes, expanding her training in ballet, tap, hip-hop, and contemporary – her favorite style. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Georgia Gwinnett College Dance Club, where she teaches contemporary classes and collaborates with other board members to lead dance classes and activities. Beyond dance, Emily has a deep passion for fitness and overall wellness. She enjoys strength training, yoga, and conditioning, prioritizing both physical health and creative expression. She also loves working with children, especially preschool-age dancers, and hopes to inspire young girls to embrace dance at any stage in life. Emily sees her journey as a unique path meant just for her, and feels incredibly grateful for the experiences dance has given her. She plans to continue training, learning, and sharing her love for movement for years to come.
